  Level I - privileges consist of: none

Level II - Privileges consist of:

  • 5 minutes of extra phone time with parents.
  • Free time (i.e. video games, music, reading and cards).

    Level III - Privileges consist of:

  • 10 minutes of extra phone time with parents.
  • 2 hour community pass with mental health technician.
  • 1 weekly outside food purchase.
  • House NA/AA meeting with adults.
  • Extended bedtime on weekends (Fridays and Saturdays).

    Level IV - Privileges consist of:

  • 2-15 minutes of extra time with parents and friends with approval of parents and staff.
  • 3 hour community pass with a mental health technician.
  • 2 weekly outside food purchases.
  • Use of CD player and radio.
  • Extended bedtime on weekends (Fridays and Saturdays).

    Group privilege -

  • NA meeting conducted by adult patient on the adolescent unit.
  • Games, arts and crafts.

    Unit level / Close Observation All patients are placed on this level for 24-hour observation. If you are aggressive, threaten elopement, destroy property, threaten harm to self, threaten to harm others or demonstrate disruptive inappropriate behaviors, you will be placed on this level to ensure your safety and the safety of your peers.

    Level I - Orientation Orient to program

  • Learn all rules and level system. This includes program rules, responsibilities, and group rules/responsibilities.
  • Abide by all rules at all times.
  • No self-destructive behavior.
  • Follow all first requests.
  • Be on time to all activities. That includes being dressed appropriately and being on time to every activity. (Groups, individual, family, recreation, breakfast, goals, group, etc.)
  • Read "This is a disease" and "Do I have a problem?"
  • Complete and read autobiography.
  • Complete all introductory handouts.
  • Journal everyday - This must be given to the therapist every morning to review and initial.
  • Discuss the reasons and events that led to your hospitalization.
  • Stay in supervised area
  • Remain in all group activities

    Level II Positive Peer

  • level I criteria continued
  • Complete step one and present in-group.
  • Must attend all activities and maintain seriousness towards treatment in all therapy activities. This includes participating in NA, educational lectures, groups, individual/family sessions and community sessions.
  • Identify negative consequences that you have experienced as a result of your alcohol or drug use and present in-group.
  • Accept constructive feedback from staff and peers without becoming defensive.
  • Read "I am your addiction and How to sabotage your treatment" and write a personal reaction paper.
  • Actively participate in family workshop when possible.

    Level III-Senior Peer

  • Continue criteria from level 1&2.
  • Take personal risks in groups.
  • Complete step 2&3 and present in-group.
  • Hold peers accountable for inappropriate/unsafe actions or behaviors.
  • Demonstrate leadership in the community and wrap-up groups.
  • Follow schedule and rules without being prompted or reminded.
  • Present educational lecture.
  • Co-facilitate goal groups/community and wrap-up groups.
  • Demonstrate effective problem solving skills.
  • Read "Responsible Concern" and write what it means to you.
  • Complete relapse prevention plan and aftercare plan.
  • List, "What I have learned in treatment".

    Level IV - Outstanding Leader

  • Continue criteria from level 1,2 and 3.
  • Complete step 4 and redo step 1.
  • Co-facilitate process groups.
  • Be a support buddy for new peers.
  • Complete amends list to family and significant others.
  • Complete good-bye letter to drugs and present in group.

    Adolescent Level System

    • Level I(Orientation /first seven days). After the first seven days you are eligible for the next level and you must know all the rules and the level system. Every patient starts at level one after 24 hour observation.
    • Level II (Positive Peer)
    • Level III (Senior Peer)
    • Level IV (Leadership Peer)
      • You will receive a check sheet and a check for actively participating and following rules and requests that are associated with your schedule and rule sheet. The most check you can receive per day is 14. A check will be given according to your schedule and performance(behavior, participation, following rules, seriousness, etc.)
    • Level one - No less than ten checks per day and you must maintain this at least four days out of seven
    • Level two - No less than eleven checks per day and you must maintain this five days out of seven.
    • Level three - No less than twelve checks per day and you must maintain this five days out of seven.
    • Level four - No less than thirteen checks and you must maintain this six days out of seven.
    • If you do not reach your quota for daily checks, you lose that day.
    • If you earn 7 days in a row you receive a reward for that week.
    • A level evaluation will be held every Wednesday and the patients will state days they have earned and if they were promoted or demoted.
    • Rewards can be earned according to level. Every level will have extra privileges.
